Just saw your post. As reported in the Dallas Morning News, 1895:

The wikipedia article focuses somewhat on the hoax angle but the whole story is worth looking into, as a statement supporting the hoax angle was shown to be baseless. It seems a pretty well researched UFO incident but I think the above is a good overview if you haven't looked further into it.
But something which piques my interest is, obviously back then there were none of these supposed MIBs and government agencies to perhaps keep people away - so if there was an amount of wreckage taken by souvenir hunters, wouldn't some of it it have surfaced by now?
Thanks. I have probably read it before but completely forgot it. Good storey, the dirigible phenomenon of the end of the 19th century is also an interesting read.http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/chas...

With this being piston heads i am currently trying to imagine what cars may exist on other planets, ok so i may have had a few glasses of red but it is possible that there are thousands of cars out there that we have not seen yet. Other planets that can sustain life may be ahead or behind us as far as technology is concerned and may well have their own noted car designers. Anyway back to the wine.

What about this one that's buried in the cemetary in Aurora, Texas? Quite a story - seems to have provenance.
What's that?http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/chas...

From a program that was on one of the science channels on Sky a while ago the well (where debris from the alleged crash was dumped) on the land near the crash did have higher than normal levels of radiation but there was nothing in the well iirc.
I remain sceptical on the visitations of alien species to the planet Earth. UFO's sure they are real, its an object in the sky that couldn't be identified at the time it was observed - doesn't mean its extra terrestrial in origin. There have been all sorts of black projects over the years that have produced some weird and wonderful aircraft some to this day are more than likely still classified.
