I'd like to put the bulb in a press and see how much it could take!

Nicely done, a fun presentation with some decent science too.

Wonder what they would be like if they made some in space or a zero gravity environment

Wouldn't it be impossible due to lack of gravity?

What has it got to do with gravity? The tension is cause by surface shrinkage of the glass when it cools suddenly, nothing to do with gravity at all.

How would you MAKE one without gravity???
Mechanically inject a dollop of liquid glass into a sealed container of water.

The water has obviously been cooled to below zero C and has a bulb shape hollow in it, happy now?

I'd leave the red hot glass floating in the middle of the room and throw the water at it...

Maybe we need a conveyor belt?

except at the end he quotes the bible and effectivley attributes it all to god rather than science

Any how you like. It's not really that much of an engineering problem is it!

Yes if you span the container of water in a centrifuge, but creating artificial g in space is a bit pointless.

Youd also have to spin the molten glass too.....

... where are we going with this? laugh
