Doesn't explain the crater walls around it - whatever created it, involved a fairly explosive event. Be it impact from above or explosive from below, it pushed a lot of material up and outwards

There is quite a bit of methane bubbling out under Siberia.

I don't see how methane could explode underground, there's no ignition source.

Can't tell from the video of the hole is full of water or just a hole...
