No landing attempt for the Falcon 9 tonight. The Atlantic is too rough currently, so the ships aren't going out.

"Falcon 9 flight 50 launches tonight, carrying Hispasat for Spain. At 6 metric tons and almost the size of a city bus, it will be the largest geostationary satellite we’ve ever flown." - Elon Musk

I'm amazed they were even going to try. I suspect the chances were limited anyhow

Funny how the French integrate Soyuz vertically, while the Russians do it horizontally.

Clock saying around 7 mins to go - should there be any commentary? I can't hear anything and can only see the clock counting down. Or am I looking at the clock counting down to the live show and there is still 4hr:30 to go to launch?

Yup, seems to be the case - not prepared to wait around for that so I'm off!

Successful launch

Video director was crap - lots of views of blokes sat around in mission control while SRB sep was visible in the background on their screens frown

Onboard video visible on mission control screens, while we get views of a bunch of people sat watching them

Edit - made a comment on the Youtube chat screen - and I've now been blocked by the owner of the video biggrin

There’s an Atlas V off tonight... just after midnight.

https://t.co/MGFv0lHa2m

It has got 5 boosters strapped to it, which is always a fun thing to watch.
