Blue Origin are going to launch their current development New Shepard rocket for the 5th and probably final time.

They plan to test the (unmanned) crew capsule's emergency ejection system while the rocket is hitting maximum dynamic pressure (Max Q). They don't expect the rocket to survive, but there is a small chance it might. The capsule should come down on parachutes.

It'll be livestreamed on Tuesday, Oct 4, starting at 3.50 pm UK time.

Here we go.

What's the betting? I'm saying good capsule separation and landing and the rocket survives. Optimistic I know.

There was a picture labelled "In Flight Escape" test on the "Blue Origin" website. I just clicked on the "start" icon.

My hunch is the booster won't make it. I hope I'm wrong.

Oops - is that a scheduled hold or an unplanned one?

Did you notice the little tortoise marks on the rocket to show each successful flight?
