The latest Discovery series makes for fascinating entertainment. Last night's was on binary systems. Black window millisecond pulsars is just about the coolest name ever. Hyper velocity stars and planets look fun.

The presenters, with their enthusiasm for their subject keep me watching. There was one professor who seemed to be under pressure, was a bit different; 'Planets,' sigh. 'I tell my students . . . ' I think he needs to move on.

Then there was the binary with the two stars touching. They reckon that when they merge - within 5 years - the resulting red nova will be visible to the naked eye. A new star, now that is exciting. Just for additional entertainment, the theory is that it used to be a three-star system.

I doubt anyone would not find it thrilling.
