I have been having a discussion on FB with a flat earther and he is adamant all his calculations/observations/science is all correct.

I’ll have to post his comments to see what you think.

Well that messed up my mental picture of the flat Earth. I assumed it was square not round.

I have a friend who works in the Space industry. He was telling me a story about when he lived "somewhere foreign, but English speaking". Shortly after they moved there he & his wife was invited by the locals to a party, the civilised sort, Fondue, wine etc.

He said the hosts and their friends were quite religious & all went well until someone asked what he did for a job. Upon telling this person he worked as a spacecraft engineer it all went quiet and then people started asking why he was perpetuating such a myth as spacecraft & space flight didn't actually exist. He tried a reasoned explanation but it quickly became apparent that he wasn't getting anywhere so decided it was time to leave with his wife. I don't think they got invited back.

From what he said these were decent, intelligent people. It was just space etc didn't fit in with their religious beliefs.

My wife's cousin who is a flat earther put this video on her Facebook and told everyone they need to wake up to the fact the sun isn't 93 million miles away!

Dear god! There's so much wrong with that, that I cannot be bothered to start on it. I'm 56, I've only got 35 years left if I'm very lucky.
