Two programmes that might be of interest to those on here, both on BBC4

at 7.30 "Sky At Night" is a newly found archive programme from 1963 with ArthurC Clarke talking about Moon bases!

Followed by Horizon "Seeing Stars" about the new generation of telescopes

Caught that last night, the second one was a repeat though. He is looking frail but the lights are still on.

Just saw it go over - and got nobbled by the Farnborough Rotary Christmas Float as they were doing their annual collection.

......and a very clear pass over southern England.

Amazing, I could still see it heading for the horizon when the ISS Tracker said it was over the German/Poland border.

Took my OH out to see that one and she said "do we wave"? She was of course kidding.

It faded out, presumably into the Earth's shadow, right overhead.

Saw another object. Much dimmer and travelling north - south. Any ideas?

I too saw that; am going to try and have a nose on Heavens Above, but if anyone who really knows what they are doing can shed some light on this rather dim object, then I would be grateful.
