Isn't Stellarium fab, tap in the name and it shows you exactly where it will be, look up and there it is!
Do you use the £10 version or the cheaper one? I sounds good, but is it worth the full product?

The SpaceX Dragon capsule is set lo launch on Wednesday at 9.33 pm UK time and should be over the UK 15 minutes later. I’d really love to catch a glimpse of that.

It’s going to take about 20 hours to meet up with the ISS, so there will be more than one opportunity.

The weather forecast is only about 40% favourable currently though. Concerns about cumulus clouds (risk of lightning strikes) and thunderstorms.

If it does get called off, the back up date will be about an hour and a half earlier on Saturday.
So, this evening then.

Seems like they are preparing for launch but weather is still 50/50 there. What's the best live feed?

Edit, just found the other thread!

I have just seen the pass, faded quite quickly and was completely gone by 23:02, enjoyed that as I haven't looked for it for years.

Clear skies here helps.

Yes I did, made up for the disappointment of the scrubbed falcon launch.

Amazing!

Do you use a motorised mount, or do you have to track it by hand with a finder scope?
No motorised mount.

I just find it and track it by hand on the gimble looking through the viewfinder. It's wobbly.

The Shutter speed was 800th sec.

It's a great picture, cheers for posting it up.

Do you record a video or a series of stills? I'd be interested to see what you can actually see with your own eyes through a scope.
A series of stills.

I cannot see it as clear as the photo because the camera lens is wobbling.

This one was with a Nikon D7100. It is 24MP crop sensor. The ISS wa not so bright.

The space shuttle used to dock with the ISS but I never managed to get a photo of it docked.

The Shuttle also used to undock and just follow a few hundred feet behined the ISS as it orbitted. I saw that but never got a shot. Shuttle was visible with naked eye behined the shuttle as it orbited.

That was a very good one,
The next pass is poor though. Too long after sunset.

How did you get on with last night?

Tonight's was good at 18:00 almost directly overhead, but stopped just after directly above due to the time from sunset.

Your app is not telling you how long the pass is, at least not in the info in your screenshot.
I use ISS Detector and you can see tomorrow's two passes are very different the later one is much shorter.
