Gluing glass cover around lights back on

The glass covers around my front indicators have both fallen off (yes, both of them). One of them while driving and is lost, so I'll have to get a new one. And the second while I was examining it to see out why the first one might have fallen off. Turns out they aren't screwed on, they are glued on, the glass apparently glued to a rubbery material.

Is it likely to be sufficient to get any strong glue marked as able to glue glass from a shop to glue it back on with, or do I need to get any special stuff?

Minis and Spitfires (amongst others) have a circular glass dome sidelight lens that fits into a lip in a rubber gasket that's held on to the bodywork by the sidelight bulb holder. On top of that, there's a chromed ring which fits in a further groove in the rubber which locks the whole thing in place. No glue is used. Could it be that your rubber gasket has got hard and cracked? I assume you have an Electron, and therefore the parts should be standard Lucas and still be available. Hope this helps.

Ah sorry, should have said. No, my car is a Proton Persona. My forum name has nothing to do with the car. I had a look around the light and I can't see anything else that would hold the plastic covers on, so I would guess they are intended to be glued on.

Sikaflex aka Tigerseal
Will stick just about anything to anything, don't use it if you need to remove the glass at any time

No they aren't. Silkaflex is exactly the same as Tigerseal (Read the chemicals on the back!). Silkaflex is just the trade name, and does the exact same job as Tigerseal...Just green instead of black.
