I would be really grateful if someone could tell me where the fuel filter is on a Mazda 323 GXI hatchback 1997 1.5l. From a search online I see that it may be located in the petrol tank, although I don't have any definite answers on this?

I would be really grateful if someone could confirm where it is and how to get at it. If it is in the tank is it necessary to remove the tank or can it be accessed another way.

Many thanks
Dave

If you cant find it either in the engine bay or under the car forward of the rear wheels then it probably has an in tank filter on the pump.
sorry i cant be more specific but have never changed one.

Its ok I found the fuel filter in the end. It was bolted to the firewall and a real devil to get out. I did check those other forums but the F model is a different model. Also I read lots of conflicting info. Even the Mazda EPC was wrong!

Anway many thanks as it is now sorted
