A lot of water in my spare tyre well

And another.
I reversed my golf into a lamp post rear offside... as you do, repaired the damage myself (botched) happy days .
Promptly forgot all about it.
Come winter the spare wheel well was full of water as was the drivers side footwell. Looked everywhere baffled then remembered the lamppost incident, removed the rear bumper on the drivers side just under the bumper there is a buffer impact plastic grid thing and to the side is a flap in a plastic frame which let's the air escape when you slam the tailgate and or other doors, I believe it's for that anyway, the metal around it had just pushed in a bit and this was where niagra falls entered... Silicone sealant is my butty.
