Would it be easier to take it to another garage? As others have pointed out, you still have another immobilisation device fitted. I don't know anyone who would fail your car for that, I certainly wouldn't.

Also might be worth a call to vauxhall to see if it even came with a steering lock from factory. If it didn't then they definitely can't fail it.

Save your money. It's a 51 plate Vauxhall Corsa. Fitted as standard.
Can't think of any Vauxhalls produced since the 1970s that haven't had a column lock.

It depends on whether your car is LHD or RHD, that's why we use the offside/nearside system - you can't get it wrong. It's worth learning which is which.
