Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can assist. My wife's 2009 Audi A3 1.6 petrol has refused to start. All I get is a rapid clicking sound when the ignition is turned, it doesn't sound like it's engaging the starter motor so can't tell if the battery is at fault (I suspect not, all lights, radio etc come on) Despite the recent cold snap it's been fine up until today, any thoughts/guidance would be much appreciated.
Rich.

Those are the symptoms of either a duff battery (most likely given the colder temperatures) or a poor high current connection (i.e. battery terminals, engine ground, starter motor).

Cheers for the response! Just tried to jump it from my A4 with no luck, so could be starter or connections as you say. Also tried my battery conditioner that the Griff is connected to and that showed that it wasn't exactly tip top (no amp reading just an amber or green light to indicate charging or complete)

Looks like we might have to get it recovered to the local indy.

Turns out it was just the battery that needed replacing, I probably need to check my jump leads now as well!
