Which oil?

What oil would you use for a 2001 Citroen Saxo furio with 90 thousand miles on the clock? Most motorfactors list two options:

5W/40

or

10W/40

why do you think that?

Do you have a handbook or workshop manual? What does that say?

I would guess Krikkit recommends 5W 40 as it will be easier on the starter, but it could also be the grade that Citroen recommends.

You wouldn't go far wrong with a 10W 40, but I'd personally stick with whatever Citroen's "prime" recommendation, rather than the "option"!

I'd go 5 40 also.

Eurocarparts normally have shell advance at about £20 for 5 l which is great value.

10w40 - it'll never have had 5w40 put in it ever, bit late to start using a thinner oil
