Just purchased pair of front disc & pads from a on line supplier based in France (not sure if I can state name on this site) my main concern they certainly do not look genuine, discs are roughly machined, pads are also suspect, have returned discs, thinking should have also returned pads, got refund 3 weeks later after many emails.Have now gone for Brembo from Europarts £20 extra can't compromise on braking....these look quality and same day click & collect.Possibly an inferior brand using the Ferodo name/box lesson learnt if cheaper may not be what it seems...any thoughts or views.

What you mean by "roughly machined" is somewhat moot now as you can't show us but not all discs have a super smooth finish from the factory. There are often tooling grooves if the lathe feed rate is high enough but the pads sort that out in short order. It may even help them to bed in.

Neither brand will be 'genuine'.

'OEM equivalent' is the loosest and most mis-used phrase in car parts.

That said I would expect new discs to have machining marks, they will polish up within a hundred miles or so.

Why bother with a "online supplier in France",when we have places like GSF,Euro etc who will supply O/E parts over the counter at very competitive prices.Car manufacturers dont make the brakes, they get Bendix,Brembo,ATE etc etc to supply the factory. You can get exactly the same part from a wholesaler.

I'm assuming the French based online supplier is the Peugeot owned Mister Auto. An enormous motor factors supplying across the whole of Europe. (used to be Mota-Quip)
