My estate car has to drive over grotty tracks in the country and invariable the odd flat tyre. Now I have wasted my money buying the portable jump starters with a compressor included but they break. I have just bought a Ring 12 volt heavy duty air compresssor RAC900 but because my battery is in the boot and most times it's laden up is there some way I can connect it to a point in the engine to make the compressor work? Or do I send it back?

There should be a positive post somewhere under the bonnet for jump starting probably on the n/s inner wing about the strut brace, the negative lead can connect to any good earthing point the engine block is as good as any.

Any idea how much current it takes? Many 12V portable compressors are small enough to power from a cigar lighter socket. I think that about 10A would be the upper limit for that.
