Howdy folks,

Just picked up new discs and pads from eurocarparts, but ive notices the ones currently on the car are solid discs and the new ones are ventilated, box has the part code im looking and its definately rear discs for the car.

I havent tried putting them on just yet, waiting for the weekend. Will these fit? They look slightly thicker than the ones on the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't see how ventilated and solid discs could be the same thickness, and if they aren't the same dimensions they won't work as replacements.

They wont work.

I'm pretty sure the Qashqai comes in both 2 and 4 wheel drive variants and I'd be semi confident in betting that one version comes with solid discs and one vented (either that or dependent on engine version).

If they aren't the same don't even try to waste your time fitting them especially as you run the risk of damaging them & then they won't allow a return, just take them back & get them to give you the right ones.

They have either supplied the wrong discs or they are incorrectly boxed, neither of which is uncommon. Take them back, don’t try to fit them.

Right guys, I couldn't get the brake discs, they could not find any other for the vehicle. But looking at the ones on the car there is alot and i mean alot of room between the mounting bracket and original disc, could it be possible whoever done them last put the wrong disc on it? Because when i put the pads on to test fit there is very little of the mounting bracket holding them in place, looks like if they wear down a few mm its going to fallout of the bracket? Any ideas?

Respectfully, you're making this much harder than it should be!..

Very quick ebay search shows loads of soild rear discs for some qashqai models. You haven't said what year /engine yours is etc

How about speaking to those vendors with your Chassis number and seeing what they think.

Or pick up the phone and speak to a Nissan dealer to confirm what should be on it....

I can't imagine why any Qashqai would need vented rear discs.

Like someone said before, the QQ comes in 4WD and FWD. I imagin vented rear brakes are for the 4WD. My only guess is my chaise is the 4WD configuration without the 4WD. My car is very heavy for a 1.6 petrol engine and really chuggs going up a slight hill. Managed to get ahold of a slightly used vented rear disc for the car off a mechanic friend. Will see if it goes on ok and everything fits like it should before i go out and buy a decent set.

Why not just measure them?

30 sec under a wheel will tell you surely?

This seems to be a no brainer. 10 seconds on Google says that some models have ventilated rear discs and some have solid. Both readily available.

Solid discs available. Check Mister Auto - They give a good spread of part numbers.

Valeo give dimensions as:

They have most brands available.
