Well, the sheet it comes with doesn't do the job.
Honestly, I'm trying it on. But also not too happy about £200 for them to keep falling out.
Try it, but I know the 1/10" thick sheet of soft foam that they come with, it's to stop them rattling in transit.Honestly, I'm trying it on. But also not too happy about £200 for them to keep falling out.
Useless to keep them in place. A thicker, stiffer foam, so that you need to compress the lid to fasten it should do the job, if they won't chnage the box.

The foam is useless, but if I need to buy an insert, so be it.
Just had their email about Black Friday deals drop into my inbox, better than half price on a lot of the socket sets, add to that they take off more if you have a Trade Card. Probably the best thing about buying tools from there.
Their big toolboxes are spot on too, wouldn't go out of the way to buy their modular tray stuff, but they do fit the drawers perfectly and keep everything from moving around when opening and closing drawers.

I just bought a sheet of cheap non slip mesh matting to put in the bottom of the drawers of mineTVR Moneypit said:
All said and done though, the Halfords tools are pretty good, but there are other places that sells stuff just as good for the same, or sometimes less money.
Yeah I wouldn't buy the Halfords tools at full price, but at their sale prices they're pretty good VFMBig fan of Halfords stuff too... even better value with a Trade Card and never any issues with anything that breaks which over the years has amounted to a couple of Torx bits and a 1/2" ratchet mechanism but to be fair I did have a scaffolding bar on it trying to crack a gearbox sump plug. The stores have some decent deals from time to time, I got rebuild kits for all my ratchets for a pound each and their 8 piece screwdriver set for £7.99 so really cannot complain. Only time I've wanted to scream is when an older ratchet set moulded box split along the hinge sending 150 pieces all over the floor but to be fair, it was a few years old.
100% worth the money imo. Used my 170pcs set for 5 or so years and never let me down with DIY use. Even took ratchet ring spanners offshore in a previous job as they never had them on-board and most tools were st Chineseium ones. Halfords stood up to months of heavy industrial abuse and never failed me. Wouldnt buy anything else for the money...
