Nissan Primastar 2.0dci

I have a Nissan Primastar showing code p0488 Egr or throttle position error , I have cleaned the EGR Valve taped up a couple of bare wires where a pipe rubbed on them and checked for any loose connectors , I cleared the code but the error still comes up with amber engine management and amber serv and coil pic up consistently.

But the the van runs like a dream pulls well no lag and does top speed ? so whats the problem BTW the van has done 220,000 miles 2008 model
