This method may be of interest to you if you haven't already seen it and is possibly the best one yet

.

As an aside there seems to be far too many instructables like this, a video and multiple pages of instructions on buying a Chinese power supply module and connecting it.

Also note that not all of these modules are suitable for charging batteries; power supply circuits have to be specifically designed to allow voltage to be applied to their outputs without being destroyed

2. Can I directly connect these wires to SLA 12V 7Ah battery? Then the charging time would be 35mins (7Ah/20A=0.35h)?
Am I the only one that has spotted this? 0.35 hours is not 35 minutes; it's 21 minutes.

I think you are, I didn't do the maths as I was more interested in the gadget, well that's my excuse

All, thank you very much for your help and advice on this topic and also for links to videos and articles, though I didn't go about trying it.

I dropped the idea of using that PSU conversion thing. I spent whole day in the garage and managed to find its own charger. All is well now smile

Cheers

Yours is a good topic, I would never have Googled for and studied all that information if you hadn't posted it,
