I used to sit and read old manuals to reminisce about setting points gaps and carb base settings biggrin
Still got a load of them the old man bought when I was a kid, think the oldest is an Autodata manual on the Mk3 Cortina laugh

Always buy a Haynes for every car I’ve owned, the Fiesta ST150 needed 2 manuals, a Fiesta one everything apart from the engine, the Mondeo one had the Duratec 2.0L engine in it.
I can read and interpret the manual quicker than I can find and watch a YouTube video plus it’s easier to refer back and forwards. You often have to remove other bits around a job.

A youtube video describes changing the thermostat on a Galaxy with a VR6 engine I had, 15 mins it said, only if you remove the engine first, took me 3 hours with mirrors and wobble bars.
The water pump did indeed need the engine cranked up and away from a crossmember, I only needed 10mm and nearly cut the crossmember to get it out.
