Got this Grand Espace with problems for 180 notes.
But one of the problems not mentioned is three of the doors won't lock off the key fob or the interior central locking button, I also can't hear anything coming from them neither.
The nearside passenger door, boot lid and petrol flap all work with no issues.

Suggestions, anyone?

Maybe there's an electrical fault. Do you have a wiring diagram, basic electrical knowledge and a willingness to get your hands dirty?

Do we take this to mean from the speakers?

If so it is likely the doors have plug/socket connections & have been off & not plugged back in properly.

Could also (as above) be a pretty extensive electrical fault, you need the above recommended stuff/ability.

When I press either the key button or interior central lock button I don't hear the defective doors trying to lock or unlock. I wish it was the speakers.

Very basic electrical knowledge. Might get myself a diagnostic tool and see what that comes up with.

Firstly there are either 3 defective door solenoids or 3 doors with defective wiring, so you have an electrical fault or 3.

"A diagnostic tool" by that I assume you mean a code reader, that won't help you with this fault.

If the door solenoids are the same you could just dismantle each door & swap around the good one to the other doors to see if they then work.

If they do then, you need 3 x solenoids, if not you need to get giggy with a multi meter and find where your wiring faults are, for this a wiring diagram will help.

Basically to find the issue you will likely be on it for a full day just getting all of the doors apart for testing etc. Either that or find a good auto electrician & open your wallet & get ready for a bill.

The more I think about it the more i'm leaning towards a diy job. I'll just have to put my seriously lazy procrastinating on temp hold.

Cheers. Much appreciated

Nope. the two working ones did work when locking it with the key but stopped a couple of days latter.

Have you checked your fuses?
The espace is glass fibre isn't it? Maybe a bad earth.

I think it's one of the fuses in the engine bay but the owners manual doesn't say what any of the fuses are for, only that you should take it to Renault any of them needs to be replaced. I can't find any info about them online neither. think i'll have to buy a workshop manual.
It is glass fibre. could well be a bad earth. it seems weird how three of them are defective. I'm also wondering if the two right doors and two left doors have their on fuses??
The previous owner was adamant they all worked whilst she owned the car but only worked from the button inside the car after the key battery went flat a few months ago and didn't bother replacing it.

Just had a thought after re-reading your original post.

You say they don't work from the remote.

Do they work if you use the key in the door?

Do they work from the button in the car?

. came back and the reading was 13

None of the three works when I use the key in the door or from the button in the car.
Night before last I took a voltage reading from the car battery which gave a reading of 12.57v. took the car for a drive for a few miles and got a reading of 13.07v when I got back. Since the drive I sometimes hear a buzz that sounds like it's coming from the engine bay when I either press the interior lock button or the key fob. I've looked online but all I read about the buzzing is it's supposed to be coming from one of the doors but it sounds like it's from the engine bay.

You need to get the doors stripped & get giggy with a multimeter then or find someone who can, a wiring diagram would help, try googling one, you may just be lucky.

Tried stripping the passenger door but got as far as trying to get the window winder off, which refused to budge.
So long story short- the car has been at a garage since Tuesday.
I called them earlier today and was told the driver and passenger doors have broken wires and the front passenger door needs a new controller, which'll cost around £150.
When I took the car in I also asked them to investigate the faulty ignition barrel and the heater blower that doesn't work.
I've been quoted £250 for a new ignition barrel, which they can only get from Renault.
The heater needs a new controler and fan. not been quoted for that yet.
I've been told the broken wires are inside the doors, so they need to be stripped.
On Tuesdays update I was given a £450 ball park figure for all repairs. How near to that figure will it be??????
