Hi,
Fiat ducato (motorhome) 2010.

Coolant is low as shown in image.

Anyone know what sort of coolant I am supposed to fill it up with?

Thanks
Simon

its coolant but most coolants are just anti freeze mixed with water, being that close I would just top up with water to the max mark , it'll dilute your overall coolant slightly but not enough too worry about

Get a bottle of Prestone coolant and fill up. It’s compatible with all types of coolant. Then you need to work out why and how the level got low.

Water fine to top it off if nothing else to hand.
This is the exact stuff though - https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-...

Hi,

I really appreciate the replies.
I realise it might be a basic question - tbh - It actually even took me a while to work out it was coolant.

I've just done my first oil flush and change and filters change on my car (and also cleaned the egr which saved a fortune - ok I didn't remove it it was a spray into the manifold which seems to have amazingly worked), now i'm looking at the motor-home.

I just haven't done anything with Coolant before - and am pretty new to getting hands dirty with engines.
I'm just fed up of paying people to do things I could do myself. (especially as motors get older).

As with anything once you have sorted it out once it then becomes obvious.
Just want to make sure I am not missing anything.

It looks pretty clean so presumably I can just top it up - or does the whole system need to be drained?

Thanks
Simon

As mentioned above, for that amount just top up with tap water and keep an eye on it. smile

Dont be frightened to ask, credit to you for getting your hands dirty as most people aren't interested in how an engine actually works and what it takes to keep them working. You could just top it off with water or mix up some coolant and top it up with that.

I believe it's recommended to use de-ionised water rather than tap water - usually found at a local supermarket or Halfords (the latter for higher cost than the former).

Clean tap water from just about anywhere in the western world will be fine - no need to use deionised water.
