Vivaro no power below 2500 rpm
Discussion
Hi all, just bought a Vivaro with the 1.9 engine and having trouble with power, who ever had it before has disconnected the 4 glow plug leads and air intake pipe and doesn’t run to bad, every now and then it lacks power below 2500rpm, soon as I connect the leads back up and connect air intake pipe it’s got no power at all below 2500 all the time, egr has been changed and just ordered a new maf but any other ideas would be much appreciated
Bullet proof engine the old f9q
Pull the egr valve out just because it’s been changed doesn’t mean it isn’t carboned up.
It’s only 3 bolts and they slide out,
There is also a tiny vacuum port on the back side of the manifold around about the position of the egr, these can get blocked up, I normally use a tiny drill bit and twiddle it through with my fingers,
It could be MAF but normally on these they have no power until they warm up slightly,
It could also still be a sticky turbo actuator, my brothers van sometimes feels flat, if you rev it from standstill sometimes it won’t rev fully then all of a sudden it will rev perfectly after that,

Big blue multiplug on the RHS of the engine bay as you look at it, I think it's underneath something (fusebox? Or tank?) Causes lots of problems due to corrosion, I cut mine out and put all the wires into a connector block which I then waterproofed, time consuming but fixed a lot if niggly faults.
Your current prob does sound a lot like MAF though. Get it warmed up and pull over and unplug the MAF, if it immediately runs better it's faulty. Don't bother with cheap ones I tried a couple on mine which were hardly any better, genuine Renault improved things massively.
