That's cheap. The new megane rs batteries are around £750 from renault to replace and don't even work.

I've never used tayna, just read about them here before.
I've used Tayna for the last five or so batteries I've bought, always well priced and delivered quickly.
I've used them 3 or 4 times. Good prices and service. thumbup

Varta AGM are OE fit on BMW , VAG etc, I know this to be true its my occupation
The Quandt family founded Varta and still own a significant chunk of BMW I believe.

Many years ago when the battery gave up on my E46 the BMW assist bloke offered to sell me a Varta battery (BMW branded) but recommended I went to Costco and bought a Bosch S5 instead, even after he’d actually fitted the new battery! My Boxster needed a new battery not long after I bought it - went for a Bosch S5 again and use a CTEK charger. A new battery for that is still much cheaper than the other 2 cars in our household (S90 and Golf) - half the price in fact.

Carparts4less - absolute wkers.
Paid for next day delivery - nothing arrived.

Can’t reach them by telephone, web chat starts at number 163, get down to no. 12 and it cuts off.
3 times it did that.

Looking at their FB page I’m not the only one...

So now I need to find another battery tomorrow.

I always pay a little extra to have batteries supplied, and fitted, locally.

It must be a right faff if you had to post one back that fails under warranty.

Steve, my Fabia has a Moll battery that's failed at 5 years old. Stop start car.

My wifes Fabia has a banner original fit, 3.5 years old.

I'd prefer to fit a Bosch or a Varta but local specialist says they only fit original, they've seen some problems.

What's your thoughts?

Wont hold you to it lol

If you can wait until Monday, I have an account with Exide and can get you a price. The problem is, Exide no longer make them over here. Production was sent over to Slovenia a few years ago so if they don't have stock over here, it takes a while for the next batch to land in the country.

Appreciate the offer, but I need one tomorrow so I can get to work.
I’ve got a load of doors I’ve sprayed to take back to a customer and pick a load more up.

ECP apparently have one in stock near me, even with the discount it’s £140.

This is the first time I’ve ever needed to buy a battery since I started car ownership in 1987.
This one is almost 3 years old but has only done 20k Miles mostly short journeys.

Another question for anyone who might know.

If I disable the stop start on my car, do I need to buy a stop start battery?

I bought 2 of these last year from Halfords using trade discount. I'm very pleased with them and bought them because reviews were good.

Used these a couple of times for batteries (last Wednesday being the most recent). They've arrived next day each time and were lots cheaper than the usual suspects. Never had any issues thus far.

Never had any issues with either to be honest, we stock Varta and fit them to most cars, occasionally it will work out cheaper to fit OEM or £15 extra at which point we give the customer the option. We supply Bosch if we don't have something in stock and need it quickly.

VW's seem to last 3 years or less and fail, BMW, Mini last about 5 years before stop start fails but they continue to work, Nissans are around 4 years when they fail they go mad electronically as do JLR - LR sometimes come up with transmission fault.

VW don't seem to be interested after 12 months, warranties are a pain on all batteries. You may find your local indi gets a good discount at TPS which is why they use them. Ford Parts plus supply Omnicraft and the trade price is stupid, something like a Fiesta is less than £30 plus VAT.

Just make sure you put like for like on or at least better, at this time of year only truley knackered batteries will fail, also no point in spending on a great battery with a 5 year warranty if you only intend to keep it 1 year. Just avoid Lion.
