I discovered today that I've had my CAT nicked, and recently too looking at how fresh the cuts are. As much as I would like to claim I've had the full CSI:PH treatment and Gene Hunt has let me have a go in the Quattro on the way to nicking the perp, no such luck nor did I expect as much. It is what it is and I am not complaining about that.

I was wondering though whether anyone has had any success in securing a CAT against theft like this as I will obviously replace it and I don't want them turning up next weekend to nick it again. Also, is a scrappy who takes CATs likely to pay attention to "Stolen from XX XX XXX" being stamped on it?

A stamp could easily be ground off, and I doubt the sort of places that accept the cats are legal nor care where they come from.

Because PH is run by faceless, humourless, anonymous, Millenial, Snowflake s. Did the offending posts have people who live in caravans, fit UPVC fascias and steal Cats featuring in them?

OPer - was it stolen off a hybrid vehicle? If so, then here's a hint.

MOT
Most vehicles have their exhaust emissions tested as part of the MOT.

Usually, they’re tested using a meter. Petrol vehicles used before August 1975 and diesel vehicles used before January 1980 are tested by sight.

If your vehicle fails the emission test it fails the MOT. The problem must be fixed before you can get an MOT certificate.

The only vehicles that do not have an emissions test as part of the MOT are:

-vehicles with fewer than 4 wheels
-vehicles with 2-stroke engines
-hybrid vehicles
-quadricycles
-hydrogen fuel cell vehicles
-electric vehicles

So... erm... install the replacement cat in your garage.

Well he seems to think so, why is that?

Anyhow i'm glad you've showed your face, this place would be a lot more palatable if you acted in a more humane fashion and actually discussed issues with people rather than striking out anonymously. The mods which used to do this gained a lot of respect for doing it. It's sad that modern society has come to this.

Some chap posted in a thread (in another area) that he would help someone out, I also posted up the same, but my post went missing and his stayed. It wasn't anywhere close to breaking any rules, so a bit of a WTF moment there, hence me wondering what the heck is going on round here these days.

Essentially what i'm saying is that if you behave like a reasonable human being then at least you're in with a chance of being treated like one!

Perhaps due to confusing this with a different thread. Since we know no messages were deleted from this one, it was clearly a mistake of some sort.

A reinforced cradle could be a deterrent. Although this is all due to high platinum and palladium prices. If those come down the thefts will stop.

No doubt some will do this, theft is encouraging people to pollute

That's it then, if you like it let's build the system

Going to get working on the electrics shortly

Do you fancy designing the plumbing with jets and pump?

Need to come up with a good name for the product and when thinking about one must bear in mind that one of the worst names ever is Google yet it took over the internet

Up to now I have CATATTAK

Cheers for now

Surely, just having it as a sealed pipe with an amount of liquid is going to be enough. As soon as you lay into the pipe with an angle grinder, it's going to go everywhere.

Amazing

I think from outside the box but never gave that a thought

Overlooking the obvious is........

Suggest you delete your above method and get it on the market

Diagram for the electrics is now in the trash bin
