Low Profile 3 Ton Trolley Jack Recommendations

Low profile- do you really need a jack with a minimum hight of 7.5cms? That trebles the price.
One of Halford ordinary jacks has a min.height of 14cms - low enough for most road cars! Measure the height of the jacking points of your car?
That’s a good point actually. I was just thinking ahead in case I changed my car. One of Halford ordinary jacks has a min.height of 14cms - low enough for most road cars! Measure the height of the jacking points of your car?
Screwfix do a canny one for £30 (link https://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-2-tonne...

I will stay away from the SGS ones. This one from Screwfix looks okay. https://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-2-tonne...I had an SGS Engineering one which normally come highly recommended from people on here but it was absolute rubbish
I’m just concerned by the quality. Although I may only use it a few times a year.
Mr.N,
Forgive me, but you sound as if you are getting into car maintenance for the first time. Good for you!
But not good for you if you forget some basic Health & Safety. Buy your jack, but buy a pair of axle stands too. NEVER go under a car that is held on only a jack!
Good luck! Stay safe!

I have a sealey yankee jack (2001lehv) , quality peice. technically its portable but you wouldn't want to be lifting it in and out of a car too often. Payed about £115 for it.

Stay away from SGS, before I bought my sealey I did a fair amount of research and heard of quite a few failing, which you clearly dont want. Also make sure you are using axle stands, not with the risk not to.

That looks good tbh. I like the look of the Halfords ones also. The advanced one looks a good piece of kit, but I will see what the other ones are like as they are on offer at the moment.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-Trolley-Jack-2-t...

CostCo do the Arcan one for under £100. It’s brilliant. Can I ask why you need 3T? Even my disco 4 weighs less than that and it’s not like you can jack it up in the middle in one hit
The civic weighs why, 1500kgs? Even if you Jack half the car once you won’t need anything like 3T
That’s true, I’m just being over cautious. As they just seem better built and more sturdy. I’m only just starting out. Plus if I ever change my car I have a suitable jack. The civic weighs why, 1500kgs? Even if you Jack half the car once you won’t need anything like 3T
I bought a 3 tonne SGS Low Profile Jack.
Less than £100 delivered.
I can't fault it, other than its heavy.
Lifts both wheels off the ground at once on my A7 which is quite a heavy car!
When I enquired about Jack Pads their Customer Service was Top Drawer.
Agree there are mixed reviews, but in my case
Its brilliant.
Most reviews are negative anyway, whatever you buy!
