Mk4 VW Polo Temperature Gauge
Discussion
Can anyone please help me?
The temp gauge on my daughters 2006 (mk4) Polo is not working properly. Being a "clever-dad!" i thought replacing the thermostat and engine temp sensor would fix it. But nope! The car is not overheating, coolant levels are all okay, is running well at normal revs and otherwise seems all okay. One minute the gauge is not working at all and then its at max!
Any ideas?

Possibly it'll be practicable to wire a second aftermarket Gauge to the existing Sender?
I don't understand modern vehicle electronics at all (which is part of the reason my daily's 25 years old) and I know I'm far from alone in that.
Check the wiring as previously suggested, especially anywhere where it is subject to movement or passes through a panel, and if that draws a blank maybe this'll be a 'next best' option
