Job done.

Then there's no call for any narcissistic self-absorbed preening about your car looking better without one or any entitled Cockney Wnanker whining that honestly, on me muvvers life Officah it's just fawllen off off me mowtah this morning when you get a tug. smile
There is no ‘t’ in the glottally stopped ‘mo’ur’.
I've heard motor pronounced both ways, but chose 'tah rather than 'ah on the presumption 'tah would be perhaps better understood by anybody fortunate enough not to be as familiar with the Cockney Wnankah vernacular as I am.

This way is also great for modifying spaces in numbers/letters to make a new word with strategic yellow/white/black screw caps. Looks really good.
Yup. I can have hours of fun popping overinflated egos whenever that happens. biggrin

Lots of advise!

Think I may go the velcro route.

Gorilla thick, clear, double sided tape worked really well for me.

I'm velcro on the front plate of Lotus. The plate acts as a sacrificial clam guard. If it's screwed it will damage the clam when ripped off!

Always use strong tape for other cars.

Never had an issue with them being removed, until this thread I didn't really know that was a thing.

Don’t they fail MOTs? The pressed part that is. I’ve got metal plates on my car that I bought recently from Halfords. Didn’t realise they’d stopped using plastic ones.
Who stopped using plastic plates Halfords?

Just for interest....there is another way...

In France it is mandatory, to have number plates riveted on.

I use M6 Threadserts, Rivnuts, call them what you will. Use M6 plastic bolts or security screws.
If the plates need to curve then a bit of heat with a hot air gun.

Neat, remove plates to clean the car, what's not to like?

dual lock is different to VHB.

I've had mixed results with VHB.

in theory it should work and often plate sits on the car for 5-10 days and randomly falls off and I find it on the driveway.

I think temperature change makes a massive difference to this tape.

I have had it heated up before sticking on and it has held on better but still over-all mixed results.
Mmm yes sorry it's very different. Isn't the dual lock stuff easily taken off? It's a kind of velcro isn't it?

I went to my local Halfords last year to get plates made and the woman said they were only selling metal ones now to reduce plastic use.
