The other day I noticed a leak under my car, it was all over the oil sump (at first I thought it was engine oil leaking as I changed it the day before). I wiped it with a white cloth and the liquid was black/brownish, can't be the engine oil as it is fresh and would have been yellow.. I jacked up my car and saw that my power steering rack is leaking slightly. I flushed the power steering system twice in 6 months and after the first time, the fluid went dark/brown very quickly, same with the 2nd time. The power steering pump does have a horrible whine to it, I've had this whine since I bought the car.
I drive a ford fiesta mk6 1.4 zetec. What stop leak would you recommend as I heard that is a good solution, currently looking at the Lucas Oil stop leak. To replace the pump and rack it wouldn't be very economical as the fix would be half of what I paid for the car. The car has done 60k miles.

Sounds like the pump needs replacing , if you can live with the noise you could try some sealer , it’s a very common issue on that fiesta , great little cars by the way

Power steering pump is an easy job on these.
Stop leak just expands the seals, it may work for a while but the leak will return. It's only use is for a car to be sold on..

I don’t really want to invest more money into the car, I already had the clutch done on it a month ago. Pump is about £150 new, I don’t really mind the whining noise, only happens when I’m going below 5mph. I’ll try the Lucas pas fluid see how that goes.
