First Air Compressor?
Discussion
I'm considering getting one for the garage. Not for spraying and I've invested in DeWalt impact guns so I don't really need the power for nuts and the like although be cool if could.
Mainly like one for having air to blow out dirt etc when working on the cars and for checking the tyres. I may move on to bigger stuff later, but for now I'm after something that's ideally quiet, but it won't be used often so not the end of the world.
Any recommendations from PH's? I'm guessing a 24L should suffice?

No such thing as a "quiet" air compressor! They all make a racket. Worst are the 'direct-drive' type, but they tend to be a bit cheaper.
I went down that route, and AFTER TOO MANY SHOUTED CONVERSATIONS IN THE GARAGE, I enclosed it, in a box with insulated sides, That quietened it, a bit, but then it would overheat!
So I added an extractor fan to the box, blowing inwards, and that has sorted it!
Probably cheaper to pay more for the quieter belt driven version in the first place - BUT THEY ARE ALL NOISY!

A screw compressor can be quietish, and our four wheel centrifugal compressor is surprisingly quiet given its run of 3.3kV. Its those pesky reciprocal ones that are noisy.

24 liters will air your tires but won't run air tools. I would say at a minimum,100l tank and a 5hp (running) motor.
Get a belt driven one that's not oil less and it will last you years.
I have a 227 liter upright compressor (60 gallons). it takes about as much space as a water heater so not too bad.

I have the 9ltr silent compressor. Perfect for tyre pressures and blow jet it has same noise level as a domestic fridge compressor.

I've not got one yet but I've been tempted to get one of these

A fully portable compressor - might be ideal for what you need.
I've got another noisy one I use for spraying sheds/fences etc
