Looking on amazon they're AMAZING.. but are they?
Not got a tap anywhere near the cars, so like to avoid the 30m hose faff, but unsure ...

I have a Worx Hydroshot, handy for me because I also have loads of other Worx tools that use the same battery type.

It’s ok; fine for cleaning a car that’s not too dirty. If mine is really bad I get it jet washed locally for £3 but for a normal clean up at home it does the job. Don’t expect anything like a proper mains pressure washer though, it’s unrealistic from a battery powered jobbie. I wouldn’t really recommend it for cleaning patios / block paving etc, it’s not really up to that kind of work. Cars, bikes, caravans and so on are what it’s made for.

Better than a hosepipe, not as good as mains. Make sure you keep the filters nice and clean, it’s amazing how a tiny bit of debris can grind it to a halt. They are very easy to clean, I try to do it every time I use it.

I'd agree, I use mine for cleaning the car and also have adapted it to spray weeds from a back pack.
I use a 25 litre water tank I bought on ebay as a water supply, it works well on a car that is not too dirty and makes a nice job of my upvc bay window.
I too had Worx batteries so it was ideal for me, just don't expect power like a Karcher and you will be happy.

I asked for a Worx Hydroshot Brushless as a combined birthday present from my brothers and sisters.

It's good, but not as good as a corded pressure washer, so it's perfect for maintenance washes. If the car is grubby/muddy then I go back to using a corded pressure washer. The best thing about it is the freedom - it's easy to lift the water container that you are drawing water from and go around the car. With a corded pressure washer, you have the electric cable, the hose input and the lance hose that invariably gets trapped under an exhaust or tyre.

Obviously, for the OP it's literally the only option. I sometimes see these things being touted around:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Streetwize-Portable-Power...

I can vouch that it is indeed a pile of pants. The plastic connections, of which there are many, have excess sprule mouldings and it leaks from every joint. I spent 30 mins with a sharp knife trimming everything, and whilst it leaks less, it's still utter pants. I normally give stuff like this away for free on Facebook Marketplace, but I'm too embarassed to insult someone with this, even for free.

Went for a cheapo one (will I never learn...) but it's not bad. Clearly doesn't match power of an AC mains powered one, but for a quick clean of the car it's fine

I got a cheapo Wesco one off Amazon. It’s OK but I wasn’t happy with the battery life so sourced a 5AH battery for it which took a bit of time find. Ebauer batteries are compatible with a slight tweak.

Anyone seen anything about the 44bar Ryobi which seems to have couple of good reviews on Youtube.
https://uk.ryobitools.eu/garden-tools/outdoor-clea...

The cost mounts up at £150 for the unit, £90 for a battery & £45 for a charger. That's £285 & only one battery which is pretty pricey, but might be worth it it the extra pressure makes it actually some use as a washer. I've seen the Work Hydroshot & it's not exactly impressive.

Summary round 2.. to give the car a good clean its still handy to sponge it after soaping, especially the wheels - as the washer is not mega powerful. But the car is a lot cleaner, as I'm now cleaning it, whereas before couldnt often be fagged rolling at 30m of hose etc.

Anyone run one of these from a hosepipe connected to mains? Which apparently you can do? How is the pressure?

I have a small Karcher and an outdoor tap but have to run an extension lead out the window. Tight for space and constantly get tangled up. Plus creates quite a lot of noise and feel quite conspicuous. All in all the result is I only clean the cars once every two or three months

Thinking about this off the mains water as a quieter and easier way to do a weekly wash and save the Karcher for big cleans every 3 months or so wondering if its worth the investment

Cheers

I've got a Parkside one that can draw from a bucket or run from mains water, you can def feel a bit more oompf coming out of it when its on the mains as the pump isn't working as hard to draw and pressurise

I bought mine for cleaning my caravan as there is no water or power there and I had the batteries, I converted it to quick release with a piece off ebay so I could use a foam cannon - I think the Worx ones are quick release out the box looking at them

it is handy at home tho for jetting down small bits like bikes or if I can't be arsed getting out the Nilfisk mains unit

I’ve just ordered a titan 5.0ah li-ion cordless from screwfix, they’ve got a 10% off deal which sweetened things. Collect tomorrow.

Whilst I do have a normal power washer I haven’t got a drive and the thought of dragging a hose and electric 35m+ down the garden to the lane sucks. Cordless and water tank for a weekly clean is very appealing

It will be interesting to see what you think of it - £104 is certainly a competitve price with battery & charger.

Will let you tomorrow once I’ve tried it out, it appears v sturdy and for washing a car it could be perfect, I always thought some of the big named/big flow/big psi pressure washers were overkill for cars. If they can take masonry paint off walls then putting over car paint, rubber seals and plastics doesn’t make great sense
