OK so not car related but someone may be able to help please. We`ve a Lamborghini 600 tractor on which the starter motor solenoid blew. Having purchased a replacement starter is not functioning. There is 12 + volts to the main input terminal but only roughly .016 volts from the ignition switch. Should this low voltage be higher please?

Normally should be 12v when the starter switch is engaged. Fuse blown?

^^This^^
To test it you can try shorting between the main 12v+ terminal on the starter and feed terminal from the ignition switch. Use a BIG screwdriver or something and be prepared for some fireworks.
If that operates the starter satis there is a problem between the switch and the solenoid.
Good luck.
ETA: normal caveats about your responsibility etc. but I started a 1250hp CAT a few weeks ago doing this when the normal switch failed.

Thanks both. As suspected 12v should show. Did check fuses-all OK. Will flash across the solenoids` ignition terminal and batteries positive terminal should confirm ign. lead/connection fault. Cheers.
