1993 Eunos Roadster Mot Emissions
Discussion
Just wondered if any Mot guys hang around here and could comment.
Father in laws car failed the Mot on various things but the problem one is the emissions.
Im pretty sure the details being used are incorrect and its being tested as a UK Mazda Mx5 which while it is to the untrained eye the car is an Import and does not appear in the Annex of the emissions document.
This basically means it undergoes a less stringent test from what i can see.
Photo below of test results, i believe the CO max target should be 3.5% for the Eunos.
Just wondered if they enter the car manually for the emissions test or is it automatically populated with the registration?

Didn't go well, he wouldn't back down saying he was right.
I had a chat with DVSA who confirmed he was wrong and referred me to this which when used takes me to the non cat test.
Won't be returning as I dont have the energy to deal with stupid.
Met a few ignorant MoT testers in my time. I would print off a copy of the flow chart for him and, if he still refuses to 'get it', refer him to DVSA for 're-education'.I had a chat with DVSA who confirmed he was wrong and referred me to this which when used takes me to the non cat test.

I am sure he will love you for that...... Just sayin'.It's far too common, in all walks of life, people just not doing their job properly and, by the customer not pointing it out, it perpetuates. It's like moaning to your dinner partner about the quality of that restaurant meal, but meekly telling the waiter/maitre d' that it was all fine...
