Just had the phone call to start at 3am. Hopefully I'll have some Olympic runs taking soft drinks into an Olympic warehouse in the East end. You have to stay in the cab while they back you into a restricted area warehouse and unload you, so might I get a chance for some shut eye.

5am as per usual for Sheppy at 6. Judging by who you drive for we must cross paths quite a bit, keep an eye out for the yellow powder tankers being dragged by new premiums, one of them has a ph smiley on the back of the cab wink

Will keep an eye out. I'm on MJD, normally pulling the Coke contract with a curtain sider with a year old premium. Would prefer a Scania V8 though.

To be honest I prefer the new renults to scanias for driving, the scanias are better at being a home away from home though. Used to fly past your yard all of the time picking marble up from opposite the scrap yard with a curtainsider, you'll see most of our brick lorrys going in and out of cemex down the road from you, but I steer clear of that and stay on the tankers.

I was sold on the noise, had one going over the QE2 bridge next to me on Friday. He kept blipping it, as the traffic slowed and pulled away, as he pulled up to the top of the bridge.

Not driven a Scania V8 so can only guess what it's like. Love the premium though, it's very driver freindly with the button on the right stem giving you all the information you need to know.

Ive got a large ph smiley on the back of my cab, blue and white daf xf, not always visible though as we have a lot of close coupled trailers, 0430 am for me, pontypridd, 2x bristols and western super mare, then where too, who knows.

Apart from the noise theres not much difference to a normal peice of kit, everything is relative to the weight that youre dragging anyway. I used to get enough of a buzz just from having one eminox stack behind my head, theres no real need to have two of the things, although they do look cool. They still running some of those old xf dafs over there? Most of them were in a right state, id hate to think how a renaults going to survive over there laugh

All the old DAFS ended up on a boat to Africa, they couldn't go into London after January. The Renaults are holding up ok, although they take a beating at the weekends. Mines a year old and has done over 200,000 kms. It gets driven by anyone at the weekend frown

Ah 4 berth off to lagos, thats the sort of stuff that i used to do in the good old self employed days. One of the many good bits of being on the tankers at my place us that because they are special units noone else gets to use them, all of the other stuff gets smashed to peices by the weekend agency boys rolleyes
