In the early hours waiting in line for a Container. Kind of eerie waiting in the dark yet lit docks and then a dark shadow lowers over you.

think its dartford area.
cliff will know for sure smile
Yeah, had just been flicking through a few pages and saw their name on one of his snaps.
We're down at Swanscombe, not far from the crossing. Always guarentees atleast one tunnel run a day.

The fleet is around 90 trucks, mainly Renault Premiums, plus Scanias, Volvos and and Ivecos. Mine is usually a Premium, or whatever is left in the yard.

Always see these two on the North Circ near Wembley. Think they've not moved in years. A two door XR4i and a Pegeot GTi? Took this morning on my way to a job.

You telling me I can sell my historic relic to a museum smile

That's a cab camera that records accidents/incidents and can either put you out of the frame or get you bang to rights.

So is that camera facing out of the screen or pointing at you? Fines for flicking boogers around the cab?
It can see inside and outside, front and passenger side.

We had a driver who was hit on the passenger side from a car merging at speed from the M11 on to the M25 clockwise.

At the time the driver was shaken up as he saw the car spin out in front of him, probably not as shaken as the driver and passenger of the car lol.

The driver thought about giving up as he doubted his own driving skills. When the playback was reviewed at a later date it was clear to see the driver had checked his mirrors multiple times and had done everything right and it showed the car coming from nowhere, at speed, from the slip road and hard shoulder to impacting the cab.

The driver was happy afterwards he'd done all he could, as was the insurance Co and the claim went against the car driver.

Coming back to the right side of the Thames tonight, I spotted a Vauxhall Victor in the other lane and awaited my chance of a snap. When stopped I got a shot of the Victor and didn't realise there was a 1600E cortina alongside it. A coincidence shot?

Booger me ! I was about 50mtrs behind you !
It's a small world. wink

Im doing the same although I cant see the bridge, saw EPD in my car on the way home. Looking at the drivers arm that was resting on the open window, he was wearing some dodgy christmas jumper hurl
Haha, sounds like a driver from the east has been shopping at Aldi.

quayside at felixstowe, some of the many ship cranes.
Similar to what I see around 2-3am when I walk to work, looking across the Thames and down river to Tilbury. All the noises of the docks and on foggy nights the horns of the boats. Love it!!

Tell the little one the cranes in the distance are Giraffes.

We use the A3 a lot, either going into London or down to Portsmouth.

We are assigned our own truck, however if the night driver isn't back in time we get given anything. Also agency drivers have them at weekends and they don't look after them. It's a never ending job trying to keep them up clean and up together.

Is your yard on the left with an electric gate and long drive that looks like it goes to a farm?

That would be correct.

It sort of does, offices, our transport yard and an aggregates/tipper hire yard behind.
always thought it looks a bit of a posh place, well kept and all. Cut green grass fields and a name plate on the fence outside. Wondered what it was.
