There looks to be some half tidy motors on there being sent for scrap.
Some get auctioned off if they are too good, then some funds sent back to the police force.

Winter’s coming frown

Seagulls are coming inland. Conkers are falling off the trees. The leaves are turning and I’m having to put the heating on in my van.

This was yesterday, at exactly 75% of the way through my round.

Show off frown

I do have a heated windscreen though……and electric windows, (my spare van has neither).

Got me thinking back.....when I first started lorry driving you were lucky if the seat adjusted, never mind a heater in the cab!

Well it's a Daf, so probably won't work again all winter.

Last load before Christmas.
And yes that's an E39 Touring going for scrap.

I would have at least taken those alloys off first, quite desirable amongst old BMW types

Conditions on my rural bin-lorry routes have been tricky this winter, sheet ice, total white-outs and today, sun and lovely crisp weather, last friday I saw -24 on the thermometer...

You’d tipped your truck over onto its side? yikes

Fair commitment for the recovery vehicle to go horizontal too.

Haha no idea what’s happened to the picture. Not quite as dramatic as the picture makes out. The gearbox decided to put itself into neutral as I was pulling away from a set of lights to join the M25 slip road and no amount of turning it off and on again fixed it. Luckily there was a slight slope away from the lights so I could roll out of the way.
