I was watching this Friday and there was a guy driving the merc rigid delivering to tesco and when they was showing shots of him driving I notices the dash display had a red light over the digital speedo. Now I have only ever seen this when moving vehicles in our yard with no taco. Every thing else is a yellow light for say oil or washer bottle level. So my question is do they not need to use taco if being filmed or are they in the wrong?

These 3 are the only red ones at the top, after a quick experiment i found out that you can also make a big red warning come on if you drive at 100kph smile

Not sure about Mercs, but on my MAN you can adjust the speed the overspeed light comes on. Id guess that being Stobart it will be set at 54ish or less.

The red park brake light came on earlier when i was sitting at the blackwall tunnel, air pressure dropped below 8 bar, the stop one nwver lit up though.

As a side note, mirrors on mercs suck.

It probably won't be a no card in the tacho situation.

Mercs are hypochondriacs and anything that the lorry considers a problem is indicated by a red bar above the speedo.

So, bulb out, ABS fault, over-speed, anything really.

On Mercs, bulb outs and service dues are all orange lights..

I'd be amazed if he was running without a tacho, and i'd be amazed if the truck went out with defects knowing how keen they are.. service due could be possible if their on site garage (like ours) doesn't reset the schedule when serviced.
