ah yes, the flashing overspeed!
a tad annoying.
don't get me started on bloody tassled curtains
a waste of space, and dangerous.
Ive never understood why some drivers try to make their truck look like a f*cking bordello! a tad annoying.

where i am at the mo, i'm the only night bloke, so drive a pick of about 20 trucks on a nightly basis.
they range from the clean-filthy, and basic neat and tidy-full of absolute tat.
horses for courses, but def not my bag. got a call the other day from the other firm i normally work for. i'm back on tour in february, and will be away for a fair bit of time each trip, anything from 2 weeks, too, 22 weeks. i'll have all the bits i need, stove, tv, laptop etc, and the inside of the truck wil be mint, (i'm abit anal) but def no tat, no frilly curtains, tassles, name plates, dream catchers, etc, etc
I agree with regards to the tat, I HATE having clutter inside the cab, so dash tables, dream catchers and all the other associated crap was something I never bothered with
However the custom made centre mat, fuse box cover, curtains and window pelmet made the inside of an otherwise spartan grey box more homely, like you I'm VERY anal about cleanliness inside the cab and this OCD extends to having nothing lying around
I certainly couldn't carry a stove for cooking, I couldn't cope with the smell of cooking the following day, it's been said before I have OCD and typing this i may actually believe it
As for driving something filthy inside, not a chance, if it's not acceptably clean then I'm sorry im not spending 10-15 hours in someone else's dirty, the thought of that repulses me.

it repulses me aswell martin, but beings i'm "just" the nightman i have to put up with it.
it really does go from 1 extreme to the other. the best makes you feel like you shouldn't get in with your boots on, the worst, makes you feel like you need a protective suit before you do get in.
the job i currently do has really served a purpose this year, and i needed nights so i could be available for hospital stuff during the day. now things have changed, i'll be going back on the tour stuff in feb, so will get to keep my own truck all the time.
i only really use the stove for boiling a kettle in the cab, and emergencies. we get catering sorted on most jobs, but its handy to have just in case. 1st stop in feb will be finland, so just in case the snow is really bad, i'll have the stove as a standby.
