sounds like the bad stuff is coming in from the West tomorrow. Luckily I've got two full loads, one to Hayes, first thing. The second load will be in North London, so I should be safe. biggrin

Whilst my days as a gobby transport office bod may've finished, i'd still like to say good luck, and take care out there, you 'orrible lot.

First job was ok and it started snowing just before I left. Then it was a steady drive to sidcup, pick up a full load and into Tottenham, where the weather worsened. Still ok though.

Tomorrow it's two containers out of Purfleet, one to Haverhill and the other one into West London. Think the Haverhill road could be a little tricky at 5am.

How's the weather in the midlands?

Turning into the industrial estate in Tottenham.

Over-nighted last night in Newport, S. Wales and woke-up to mucho snow. Got my cable drums off-loaded first thing and back home to Scotland with a flat-trailer load of Welsh snow!
Sod trying the Monmouth road. Safe way back was M4 and M5. (good choice as M50 was closed!) Got past Birmingham before it ground to a halt.
The MAN TGX windows kept misting up real bad. Tried every combo of settings, AC, AC/ECO etc. Finally sussed at Hilton Park that the air inlet under the bonnet was totally blocked with ice. Fixed that and clear windows all the way home.

That's a fair old day's work for a Saturday, there's me thinking I'm hard done by starting work at 4.30am and getting home again at 8.30.

Looks like Leeside estate, the parking doesn't look any better than when I used to go there.

Day started off well, in and out of the first job, then it all went down hill from there with me being stuck in West London for three and a half hours. Turned out a long shift in the end frown

Bang on Jagracer, it's the Mowlem estate off Leeside road.

bow You have my sympathies and admiration, after doing 10 years of container, general haulage and trunking I couldn't go back to it and you're more than welcome to it.

I know the snow's about to disappear but I've managed to download a couple of pics off my phone before it goes! Above is after turning for home in Bristol just up from Temple Meads station. Trucks, buses and cars stuck on hills, no chance mate. Tried again on Sat, flew through no problem.
Following the snow blower along main road behind Horseshoe Pass, Llangollen.
Snow blower hadnt got to the side road I needed yet. Nearly there. Only just wide enough for the truck though!
I'm glad it looks likely to be gone this weekend...
