I am guilty of that - describing anything < vocational licence as a 'van'.

The whole flashing thing puzzles me too and I dont think its related. When Ive asked about it in the past the concensus appears to be that the influx of ignorant foreign drivers has put paid to it.
could be.
i find when i'm in europe, the whole flashing in thing happens a lot less than in the uk.

Off topic, is that going to be enough of a max weight with a transit for what you want it for?
I retail a lot of smaller vans - Connect, Caddy, Astra and the like, so it's perfect in that respect. I've had a SWB transit on it, but that's probably at the top end, payload wise. It has a lightweight body too.

With regard to flashing, I guess times have changed, so I'll just fall in line and try to look less "rapey" smile

Youre lucky to get a flash from anyone, even if youre driving an eight wheel 32 tonne monster.

Its just you OP. I get loads of truckers flashing me in when I'm driving my Lwb Sprinter hehe.
Snap.

Can't claim to have any other Sprinter drivers flash at me, bar the other one I work with.

I will guess that the 'hero factor' plays a part.

Wtf do 7.5 tonne recovery vehicle drivers have their flashing lights on all of the time? Theres no hazard if youre moving and the vehicle is secured - its pointless.

HGV drivers with an amber beacon use it when they have to, but these people seem eager to get their light on at every (ridiculous) opportunity.

Maybe this lame behaviour is responsible?

agree with you on that, its very annoying! I turn mine off once I'm loading and safely back onto the carriageway
