Well. The chassis cab didn't work out but thanks to a few hings finally falling into place. I have a crew cab recovery truck. woohoo

Quite a bit of work to do...

...all six of the tyres are shot.

Bodywork is going to be fun. Basic stuff apart from the windscreen surround. That's a glass out, repair, paint, dry and glass in job. I'll have to wait for a few sunny days before tackling that.

Previous repairs to the chassis are to a "that'll do" standard. wink

A few new holes to patch up but nothing I can't handle.

A couple of things I'm not too keen on...

...I hope I can glue the GRP door back together as the thought of working it makes me itch. hehe

...and the headache rack...

...every bend has cracked. Not an issue as I'll be replacing it with a removable wheel rack for track days.

Why a crew cab?

Track days. At the moment I have gone from driving to and from the track in my car to hiring a rig to take my car to and from track. One day rental so I leave at stupid o'clock in the morning and get home after taking the rig back at daft o'clock at night. Not ideal. With a budget of fifteen hires I hope to make my crew cab into a mini-camper-transporter-thingybob.

That being said the vultures are circling and I have been offered £400 more than I paid for the old girl already. rolleyes

I think the bed has to go. It's a heavy old hector and the more I strip off...

...the worse it looks.

Taking a Binky approach. Every Kilo that goes for scrap I can add to the payload. Looking for a used Aluminium bed (if I could afford a new one I would have bought a better truck).
