Hi,

What is going on with Van Insurance?

I can't get anything below £1200 TPFT for commercial purposes.

The only thing I can find is around £400 TPFT for SD&P. This allows me to keep my Van for myself.

But I can't use it to do any form of paid work.

I'm nearly 38 and have 14yrs NCB on my car but 0 on van.

I can get cheaper insurance (fully comp) on a £80k Porsche GT3!!!

WTF Is going on with Vans?

I couldn't find SD&P for anything less than £400.

What company did you go through?

Thanks

Also mine is a business use policy, maybe thats why? - I have no idea how it works, i'm convinced it's just a random number sometimes.

I just tried with Octagon. They want £701 for TPFT and they are unable to quote for fully comp.

That's with putting down Carriage of Own Goods.

My employer was looking to get me on the vans, I'm 20. 1.3cdi combo £7000! And they wonder why there's so few apprentices about...

7k is more than the van was brand new!

On the flip side I can insure my 2.4 200bhp fiat for £700 with no claims!
