mobile puncture repair

my 7 1/2t motorbike race transporter has a puncture, the sidewall has blown out on one of the inner rear tyres. I have been given a replacement part worn tyre, how much shall I expect to pay for a mobile fitter or would it be a lot cheaper to limp to a nearby tyre place?

Would you take your car if you had a side wall blowout? No - so don't take a vehicle you know is defective out on the road.

Also, make sure the replacement's rolling circumference is close to the one it's being twinned with or one or the other will soon blow out too.

how will i know that then realist? If they are the same size and aspect ratio will that be close enough or do they have to be identical makes/models too?

In andwer to the original Q, a mate has asked a mate to do it mobile as a favour so i dont need to move it. Not broached the cost yet but hopefully less than if it went through his work

Same size and aspect ratio and approximately similar tread depth. Big differences will simply put all the load one one tyre and can lead to the problem you have already suffered.

got it done in the end from a mate of the chap who's land i store the truck on. I was given a tyre, fitter wanted £20 for fitting so i gave him more and hes going to sort me a spare on a rim for 70. Result, people can be so kind and helpful sometimes. Saved me a fair few bob
