I sometimes pass- but always going the other way, trucks carrying an odd large item of what seems like large plant or machinery on a trailer. have passed a couple in a day before or might not see one for a couple of weeks, all over UK.

I've never been quick enough with a camera, but to describe I'd say its big, seems a good 40ft long, white & is like sort of half a see-saw, or a giant white office stapler, if that make sence.

Anyone else see this or indeed know what it is?

I think i know what you mean, have seen them on the A34 in the past. I believe they are parts for the huge container handlers used at docks etc.

Are the trucks pulling it, dark green?
Name escapes me at mo, but there is a firm that deliver big dumpers etc, and I've seen them pulling something similar to what you describe.
Could be parts for "terex" maybe.

Cadzow's? Pretty sure I've seen them hauling Terex machines down the M74.

I've been wondering the same thing. I see these a lot on the A417 / A419 between Gloucester and Swindon.

Kings Haulage are the haulier, I have no idea what they are carrying although looks like dock side equipment could be correct.

That's what I was thinking. Had about 30 of them in our warehouse last year, storing them for a manufacturer. Aren't they hydraulic roof supports?

When I worked on agency for Dowty mining many years ago I delivered those things to Blidwoth Colliery. They're Pit props, at least that what I was told they were.

Hydraulic face supports (chocs), in a line 400yds long and lowered/snake forward/raised as the face coal cutter advance

size depends on thickness of the coal seam
