Well if you insist.

I suspect that if you came in a car with me you might change your mind though.

It doesn't take drivinggodism to get about without tangling with trucks or cycles though, far from it.

A lad in the pub t'other night, who does a bit of trailering for me and some others, was saying that when on the m'ways he can't believe the efforts people make to box him in, and I know *exactly* what he means. st people in st cars going out of their way to impede the progress of others with their speed-matching and baulking etc - I wouldn't/couldn't do it, and yes, I do consider myself much better than those who do.

Somebody will tell me I'm wrong no doubt, and that the baulking/speed matching cannot be avoided etc.

All that jazz

100% wrong yet again. Check the first reply - it hit it one, totally spot on, but still you're unable to learn. The last thing I am is embarrassed by you clueless types.

It must be nice for you guys though, who are so lacking in knowledge that you don't even realise that it's you who should be embarrased. It's like debating mlm-ing with those who think its ok.

But anyway, merry Xmas and prosperous new year to you all. :-)

Here you are guys, your time has come: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2534042/Se...

I'm surprised about this though - cyclists have been filming appalling driving for years and the bib haven't seem to be at all interested - I can't help but think they won't have the manpower to sift through the cyclists clips as they stand now, never mind to be actually asking for more.

Something tells me that this could come back and bite quite a lot of people on the arse. We can probably expect a few posts in S,P and L along the lines of "The police have contacted me regarding some video footage sent in, what shall I do" and expect lots of replies long the lines of haven't they got better things to do than persecute motorists etc.

It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that many of those submitting footage will probably be numpties whose own driving is questionable which then leads to the question of how long will it be before someone manages to submit footage that incriminates themselves?

Not at all, not like the Daily Mail is. I concur with the thread in the CB forum http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
and even with the comments on the DM page itself, of which only about one is as mental as they normally are.

The guy's pretty much done no more than a neat, swiftly executed U-turn, sadly without indicating (which is something I hate). He hasn't caused chaos, he hasn't put anyone's life in danger, it isn't even a "huge articulated lorry" it's actually a very short articulated lorry with rear-steer for tight turns.

Meantime, as per normal imo, the driving of the camera car is no great shakes either, as he completely disregards the rules on yellow hatching.

In short, it's a near perfect example of all that's wrong for me with this subject of dashcams. There's a nothing-incident (the lack of indicator is the worst part) and the driver of the camera car is clearly very inexperienced to be unable to recognise whats going on, plus he needs to concentrate on his own driving too.

The DM article which states that the pedestrian had to run for his life appears to be garbage. In that video the lorry comes no where near the pedestrian. Yes the pedestrian breaks in to a jog, but then we all do if crossing a road in the way of passing traffic.

Obviously the Tesco driver shouldn't be making the turn they did but to state it put the pedestrian at risk is wrong.

What say you about the other videos-

The one where someone gets run over and the driver does a runner.
The one where the lorry tractor unit bounces of a broken down truck smashing into a passing van and making him collide with the central reservation.
what about the royal mail lorry using teh hard shoulder to undertake then colliding with the truck in lane 1

What about the great one I have where a mental case woman hoons past me on teh a1, hits standing water and spins her car into the barriers - L2 to hard shoulder diagonally at about 90mph

I could go on...

Expect more stories of poor driving being filmed and then handed to authorities or the owners of the vehicles for dealing with their drivers..
