Poor / Dangerous driving - evidence on dash cam

What say you about the other videos-
The one where someone gets run over and the driver does a runner.
The one where the lorry tractor unit bounces of a broken down truck smashing into a passing van and making him collide with the central reservation.
what about the royal mail lorry using teh hard shoulder to undertake then colliding with the truck in lane 1
What about the great one I have where a mental case woman hoons past me on teh a1, hits standing water and spins her car into the barriers - L2 to hard shoulder diagonally at about 90mph
I could go on...
Expect more stories of poor driving being filmed and then handed to authorities or the owners of the vehicles for dealing with their drivers..
Tell you what how about telling us about all the examples of good driving as well. If on every example of good driving you send the footage to the companies fleet manager then fair enough, send the bad footage as well. The one where someone gets run over and the driver does a runner.

I also assume you'll be sending footage of any mistakes you make whilst driving to your boss as well?
We all make mistakes, and hopefully we realise at the time what we have done, and if we could apologise we would, but usually its not possible when driving.

my thoughts are that they're extremely rare, and the idea that I'd use a camera every single journey expecting to capture something similar is absurd, and besides, I'm busy with a life. The one where someone gets run over and the driver does a runner.

Yes, we can indeed expect more, but I still think most of the poor driving will be revealed by the camera user - it'll be his ineptitude, doubly so because hes completely unaware of his ineptitude - just like in the example that's made the papers, where the driver, you, and no doubt others, cannot interpret correctly what you are seeing.
It just backs up my opinion that the worst drivers make the most fuss.

Wow, I can hardly wait.Expect more stories of poor driving being filmed and then handed to authorities or the owners of the vehicles for dealing with their drivers..
How about you try getting a life.
However heebeegeetee has now provided the conduit for this to happen and it seems like there are plenty of other people happy to forward footage.
Drive safely and courteously, you never know who's filming you is probably what you should take from this thread.

did you get picked on at school?
One sunny lunchtime, whilst I was standing in the dinner queue aged 9 he ran up behind me, put me in a head lock, and started giving me digs. Unfortunately for him I had had enough of his st and swung him over my shoulder - a little to hard and ended up pile driving his head into the concrete floor from about 4ft , I hadn't intended to hurt him badly, just wanted to get the off of me.- it just happened in a split second.
He was out cold, the dinner ladies called 999 as they initially thought he was dead. blood trickling out of his ears everything, very faint signs of life.
Turns out I fractured his skull - he spent a long time recovering from that and was a changed person when he came back to school many weeks later.
He never tried starting a fight with me again- in fact come to think of it no-one ever did, so the moral of the story is, if your getting bullied then fracture the fker skull and they'll most likely leave you alone.
Anyway what exactly was your point or where you just proving that you had nothing interesting to say?

But do you not see the fallacy in this statement? All too often imo, as witnessed perfectly in the Tesco truck vid, the driving standards of the judgmental types who film this stuff is also lacking. I'd also suggest that those who arm themselves with a camera then often go looking for trouble, to give themselves something to film, rather than seeking to avoid trouble. As also seen in the Tesco truck film, the person filming is unable to interpret what he's seeing. I think the people who do this filming are likely to be inexperienced, and thus make a mountain out of every molehill they see - what they regard as a big deal is nothing to those who've clocked a good few miles up.

Well seeing as you asked, there was a kid in my class who really was the bully of the year (turns out he had learning difficulties and couldnt control his anger properly) he was always fighting with me and I still have the scars of some monumental tear ups with him.

It's being reported now on the other thread that the Tesco driver has been suspended.
So here we have a driver doing little wrong, didn't cause any harm, didn't cause any 'chaos' and whose chief mistake was to fail to indicate.
Now he may lose his job because he was filmed by someone ignoring the rules on yellow box junctions (now that does cause congestion).
We may expect more of this as more and more clueless bedwetters arm themselves with dashcams. I still say the the predominant reason for using a dashcam is because the users are poor drivers themselves. I mean, do they honestly believe that they're not making their fair share of mistakes too, 'cos that is frightening if that is the case.

Are you saying it's ok for a lorry to turn right when it's clearly labelled no right turn?

He's turned left, and done a U-turn. All perfectly executed apart from the failure to indicate. As others have said, it is a manouvre that black cabs do all day, every day, amongst others. Are you saying it's ok for a lorry to turn right when it's clearly labelled no right turn?
There may be good reasons for his doing so, my thoughts are that he's gone wrong somewhere and is off-route, and has decided that his best option is to get the hell out of there before compounding the mistake, and he's done so without any effect on anyone else. It is entirely a 'nothing' incident.
