We get a risk assessment giving us an LTBS route to each store. If we deviate from the route we MUST complete a form providing the reason from deviating from the RA..

Seriously? Reckon that'd do my tits in. Couldn't imagine having my every move mapped out for me.
+1, I couldn't either. I take my hat off to those that can, but its just not for me.

london in a wagon can be a regal pain in the ass, trying to stick to every single traffic law up there is pretty hard. I'm so-so in london as been doing it for 20 years, but feel for the newbies and foreign trucks trying to make their way around whilst never making an illegal turn, goingdown a night time ban, weight limit etc.

I used to do smithfield deliveries regular at night. Its a set route in and out, and not easy if you don't know it.
many a time I'd see a foreigner parked at the side of the road, hazards on trying to suss out the way in. If poss I would stop to check if they were going to smithfield, and if they were I'd get them to follow me in smile

I've been lost many a time, in barcelona, athens etc, so know how it feels.

Couldn't agree more, it's been about 18 years since I last delivered in London, i'd've been in the Daily Snail every week with some of the st I ended up doing to get to places(back when all you had was satmap, as in a map sat on the floor next to you wink )if dashcams had been available back then.

Morning all.

Just an update, the driver was given a written warning which is to stay on file for 52 weeks. And full pay whilst suspended, I have asked if I can go that way later wink

The sensible outcome from the proliferation of all these righteous idiots withs dashboard cams would be for all truck companies to remove branding form their trucks!
..and that's exactly what they're doing. All, and I mean every single one of our new ones are coming through white. No branding/logos or anything.
