I took my 2017 to 90k in 3 years with no issues.

I’m a gentle user and no one else drove my van. Wonder if that makes a difference to longevity

Its been driven normally, neither gently nor thrashed. Always serviced at a main dealer on time.

I suspect the problems stem from the engine swap, they didn't do a particularly good job, like leaking injector seals, bolts missing from headlight and front wing fixings.

That said, the soonest they can look at it is 27th May! Upside is the 21 plate hybrid loaner i have until its fixedsmile

So far, not really had the chance to charge it. Quieter than diesel, performance seems reasonable. Seems pricey at around £40k.

I'll see what I think after a bit of use.

elder if your van was a racehorse it would have been taken out the back and put out of its misery. I think I saw you on the M5…..you were as far over to the left as you could get.

If it were a racehorse it would be turned into glue. Which would probably be non stick....

Yup, stuck for a few hours shivering on the save side of the barrier. Again.

My Renault Trafic has served me brilliantly the last 4 years. Just ticked over 175k but it is starting to feel the miles. A few things irk a bit, lack of auto lights / wipers, pretty crap headlights and it rides a bit rough on a bad road although I only have about 150kg in the back of it. On the plus side it’s really comfy on a long run which is 99% of daily duty.

I’m starting the process of replacing it and it looks like a Custom Limited has a really good spec, heated windscreen for winter would be great and heated seats would be very welcome.

Reading the thread I’m concerned re reliability. Is the latest version any good and how are they comfort wise after 5-6 hours?

Before I do commit I’ll hire one for a week or so and see how we get on, it’s amazing how little things really start to grate that you can miss on a short test drive.

My 2.0. 2017 was spot on. Most of my driving was 12-13 hours long distance.

I'm on my second Custom Sport and it's the only van I've really been comfy in, I've driven Transporter's and Vivaro's and imho it's miles better comfort wise, like all vehicles you can get a bad one but you only hear of the bad ones you very rarely get someone praising them.

The biggest problem I have is the life of the tyres especially the front,

My Dispatch is the most car like van I've driven, probably because its based on a car chassis rather than a van. Worth a look.

I was getting 30k from fronts and got 80k out of the rears…

Mini road test, Transit hybrid. Quite nippy electric mode, up to about 50mph.

Driving gently, results so far.

Range on battery 25/30 miles. Mostly 26/27.

Petrol consumption 26mpg.

My usual consumption for the diesel is 33/36mpg.

The hybrid version has the feeling that it exists for a very niche user, for my general mix, it is a definite no. Neither one nor the other.

It is an automatic, which works well.

Seems only suitable for inner city driving.

Watched a couple of videos of the leccy Peugeot Expert that seems a decent van with a reasonable range.

My Dispatch is electric, it replaced my Diesel Dispatch, in warm weather I get around 200 miles in town, in colder weather it dropped to 140 ish. Best van I've had my a mile.

That’s very good. I probably do no more than a hundred miles a day depending on where I’m going.

Nice looking van as well might need to go and get a test drive of one.

2 other downsides of electric vans: payload, it's a lot less than the diesel equivalent, and towing capacity....750kg max.

Suffice to say, its not worth switching yet until a comparable electric product is available.

I considered that for a nanosecond.. should be offered with a bit bigger of a battery Evan if it hits payload, typical daily usage of 30-40 means I'd be drinking petrol by the end of pretty much every day so it doesn't really add up, plus [bores comment here] top speed limited to 75 would be annoying and I expect it lacks any top end Punch whatsoever?

Was absurdly expensive too, twice the price of the derv, in fact I calculated you could buy a derv transit and a Toyota Prius for less than what they were asking for the hybrid transit...!

The limiter isn't really an issue for me, fuel consumption is horrible flat out.

It seems a pointless version, almost a box ticking exercise. Either a diesel or fully electric are a better buy for 99% of users.

At a sane price with a bit more battery it'd work for me - leccy most days with the engine being fired up 2 or 3 times a month for the occasional busy day or trip.

And the limiter isn't about driving everywhere at 80 it's about usability, going for a gap, brief boost to get past 3 lanes of mlms derping along in formation before your exit etc etc. God I miss my 3 litre Vito sometimes!
